As an artist I determined that my career path would be in art education. I have a BA degree in studio art from University of Dallas with a concentration in painting. The degree program at U.D. includes a strong background in studio art and a solid foundation in art history including both classical and modern composition and techniques. As an International Baccalaureate and IB middle years program teacher I have over seven years of experience implementing cross-curricular and global pedagogy and 16 years of experience in education. Technology must be an integral part of art classroom instruction and the art room currently includes an 6-station iMac computer lab. My teaching experience includes Theatre grades 7-9, and Art grades 7-12 in design, drawing, painting, photography, AP 2D design, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Art. I have a large home studio that is dedicated to the pursuit and development of my own art and I am a passionate life-long learner, for whom teaching is a real calling.
My husband Bob and I have made NHP our school of choice for the past 14 years, our youngest daughter graduated from North Hills with the class of 2008 and our oldest daughter teaches 11th grade IB English and 11th-12th grade AP and regular English here at North Hills Preparatory.
