Academics / IB®

Our scholars don’t just learn facts — they learn how to think, ask questions, and grow into confident, caring leaders.

What is IB? The Uplift IB® Journey

Imagine a school program that prepares students for the future, not just with academics but with real-world skills, global awareness, and a love for learning. That’s what the International Baccalaureate, or IB, is all about. If you’ve never heard of it, don’t worry—you’re in the right place to learn.

The IB is a worldwide education program designed for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. What makes it different from other programs? Well, it’s not just about passing tests or memorizing facts.

The IB focuses on helping students think critically, solve problems creatively, and develop a global mindset. It encourages students to explore ideas, ask questions, and consider different perspectives—all while becoming strong communicators and lifelong learners.

All Uplift schools are either IB authorized, or in the consideration or candidacy phase of authorization. To see the authorization status of each school, click here.

Learn About the IB Programs

From kindergarten through 12th grade, our IB approach helps children become independent learners who are prepared not just for college — but for life.

PYP – Kindergarten – 5th Grade

At Uplift, our youngest scholars learn through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP), which helps them see how all subjects connect and relate to the real world.

Instead of learning subjects in isolation, students explore big themes like:

  • Who we are.
  • How the world works.
  • How we express ourselves.
  • How we organize ourselves.
  • Sharing the planet.

This approach builds curiosity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

PYP students don’t just learn facts — they ask questions, solve problems, and take action to make a difference.

DP – 11th Grade – 12th Grade

  • Think deeply.
  • Manage their time well.
  • Take on meaningful projects.

DP students take college-level courses, explore global issues, and complete a research project on a topic they care about. This program helps scholars stand out in college applications and prepares them for success in college, career, and beyond — not just with knowledge, but with strong thinking, writing, and leadership skills.
