    Biography:
This is my Fourth year with Uplift Education at Summit International Preparatory and my twelfth year of teaching in the Dallas Metroplex. I have taught courses in Theatre Arts, Speech Communications, Debate, Oral Interpretation, and English to high school students as well as working with fine arts education programs for both primary and middle school.

Before taking a pathway to teaching I worked in production management for many performing arts companies: Dallas Summer Musicals, Ballet Austin, NJ Shakespeare Festival, Alvin Alley American Dance Theater, The Dallas Opera, and Shakespeare & Co.

I have a firm belief in the mission of IB. Through out the years I learned to take a global approach to life. The Fine Arts, especially Theatre, helps all of us to understand the world a little better.  We may not always like what we see, but that is the point.  Get society talking to make the world a better place.  Besides having a firm grasp of the liberal arts (The Arts, History and Literature), I also have a love for Science. I even won science awards for microbiology in Dallas Regional Science Fairs during my youth.

Travel and volunteering help boost and extend the learning classroom by giving opportunities to experience more than a textbook, television, or the internet. All the places I have traveled whether in the United States or abroad have helped to expand my mind set.  I hope all students can experience travel and have wonderful opportunities to expand their minds.

Realize your full potential and follow my motto: “Don’t wait for opportunity to knock; meet it on the sidewalk!”
