Florida A&M UniversityIndustrial & Manufacturing EngineeringBiography:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Ms. Wardlaw and I am your child’s Algebra I teacher for 2015-2016 school year at Summit International Preparatory. Allow me to share a little bit about myself! I am from New York, South Carolina, and Florida, respectively. I’m not quite sure which state to call home but they all have a special place in my heart! I attended Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University where I received a B.S in Biological & Agricultural Systems Engineering and an M.S in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering.
Prior to joining Uplift I worked as a Quality Engineer for Coca Cola, a Field Engineer at Schlumberger Oilfield Services and a Manufacturing Engineering at Owens Corning. I am also a certified personal trainer by National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am thrilled at the opportunity to incorporate my knowledge and experiences from industry into our classroom this school year. I believe that understanding how math is applied in the real world is essential to truly learning mathematical concepts and acquiring the skills needed to problem solve. Within my Algebra 1 course this year, your scholar will engage in learning about Linear Functions, Polynomials, Exponents and Quadratics. I expect all scholars to work hard, be reflective after assessments, ask plenty of questions, actively participate, and EXCEL!
I am looking forward to working under mentorship of our school Director, Ms. Aleia Mims, and will uphold her high standards. While this letter is only a brief introduction, I hope that each of you will feel comfortable with my role in your child’s class. If you have questions at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank You,Niya Wardlaw
