Things you can work on during the extended break:
REST, RELAX,RECHARGE - I know this may be hard but try to remember our Mindfulness Monday excercises and discussions. When you feel overwhelmed, take time to breathe and think about those things you have control over and those you don't. Remember to move those that you cannot handle to the side, at least mentally even if for just a few minutes. Think about the things you can handle and come up with a few postive steps you can take to move forward. You don't have to solve everything; you just need to try and move forward.
TO DO FOR CLASS - The good news is that you have time to get caught up on your memory work: Unit 1 & Unit 2 Vocabulary and Endings. The lesson notes & vocabulary lists are online if you need them. The Unit 2 Connections can be done (handed out in class and on line) and the Study Guide. Remember that I am available via school email to answer any questions you may have.
WEBSITES FOR PRACTICE: I have updated the website links with some really great practice pages. Try them out and let me know which one you like the best. Challenge: Can you find sites that help you practice & learn Latin? Let me know what you find and I will give Hero points to those of you who find some good ones.
FINALLY - I miss seeing your smiling faces in class and can't wait to see you again when this all passes! Feel free to email me if you feel up to it to let me know how you're doing and what new things you are getting to do with your extra time. I'd love to hear from you!

This will by my 21st year as a teacher at North Hills and my 31st year of teaching. I'm originally from Houston, Texas and moved to Irving when I got married. All five of my children have attended North Hills, one of whom attended North Hills in its first year back in 1997. My husband, Jim Kennedy, works at North Hills as the Facilities Manager in the Operations Department. Our 3 oldest sons are U.S Marines (no longer active duty). Our 1st son works for Amazon. Our second son has since switched to the U.S. Airforce and is married to an Air Force Dentist (studying to become a Periodontist) Our 4th son is married and is a fireman for the Irving Fire Department. Our 4th child and oldest daughter, is a Social Worker, working on her Masters and our youngest daughter just graduated with a degree in Drama & Film Studies. We have 6 grandchildren and one very cute & smart Corgi names Ami. Traveling is something I truly enjoy, having been to Israel, Mexico, North & South Korea, Japan, Ireland, England, Italy, Wales, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Bahamas, and Scotland. I have traveled to many of the states in the U.S. (including Hawaii) and hope to travel to all of them eventually. I enjoy teaching at the middle school level and preparing these scholars for their high school experience!
