Our priority is to provide our Summer Institute staff, scholars, and families with the peace of mind that our campuses are a safe, secure place for all Uplift scholars and staff. Please refer to the documents below for health and safety protocols that will be followed during Uplift Summer Institute.
We are delighted to have received an enthusiastic response to our summer school programs. At this time, we have reached capacity all virtual and in-person classes. Staff and scholar safety remain our top priorities, and we want to ensure that we are able to maintain safe social distancing by placing a limit to the number of scholars per classroom. If we are able to offer more sections, we will re-open registration. In the meantime, we encourage scholars to continue their Independent Summer Learning. We are excited to share our Summer Institute offerings for scholars to continue their learning while, of course, also having fun and relaxing over the break. We heard your feedback, and we have made accessing learning for our primary scholars much easier during the summer term. Uplift summer learning programming falls into two categories: Self-Paced/Independent Learning and Teacher-Led. Our optional teacher-led sessions will allow scholars to be in a classroom with a teacher. This small-group instruction with no more than six per classroom will be implemented using all guidelines for social distancing and safety.
We believe that this is a safe and balanced way to get our scholars back for in-person learning to address any learning loss caused by school closure, and to accelerate scholar learning. As one of the only area school districts to offer both in-person and virtual learning models this summer, Uplift will have the opportunity to learn from this implementation to inform our practices for the fall semester.
