    Cynthia Brown has over 15 years’ teaching experience. Her teaching career began in the Greenville Public Schools district in Greenville,Mississippi, as a 4th-6th grade Social Studies teacher. Later she beganteaching 6th grade self-contained (all subjects) and Reading and SocialStudies. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 2005 to work for KIPP TRUTH, where shetaught 5th-7th grade science and physical education. After leaving KIPP, shejoined Uplift and began teaching 7th and 8th grade history at Peak Preparatorybefore teaching 7th, 8th, and 10th grade history and 7th grade ELA at HamptonPreparatory.  Cynthia is currentlyworking at Summit, where she taught 4th grade self-contained. She was an Exemplar Teacher, while teaching 5th grade self-contained. This year, she is the 7th grade ELA and Content Teacher Leader. She was elected teacher of the year three times and had exemplary results. She ismarried with three kids and in her spare time, she loves to read. Her belief isthat, "All kids can learn and will learn if given the opportunity".
