1 can (15 oz) chickpeas
2 TBL lemon juice
1/2 c tahini (sesame paste)
1/4 chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Drain the chickpeas, reserving the liquid.  Combine all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.  Puree until smooth, adding the liquid until it reaches the consistency you want (1/4 or so).
